In the early 1980s, our artwork was published and distributed both nationally and internationally by Bruce McGaw Graphics of New York City. While it’s unclear which set director at CBS Television City selected our pieces, two of our images—Archie and Willy—were chosen as set decorations for the popular CBS sitcom Blossom. The posters were prominently featured in the main character’s bedroom and appeared weekly in the show’s opening credit sequence. They were also later seen in background scenes on the long-running mystery series Murder, She Wrote, starring Angela Lansbury.
Blossom aired for five seasons and featured an impressive roster of guest stars, including Mr. T, Timothy Leary, Alan King, Bill Dana, Slappy White, John Ratzenberger, Little Richard, Reggie Jackson, Terry Bradshaw, Bill Bixby, Arsenio Hall, Dick Clark, Sonny Bono, Tori Spelling, Fabian, Hugh Hefner, and B.B. King.
Murder, She Wrote ran for twelve seasons and welcomed numerous notable guest stars such as Courteney Cox, Bryan Cranston, John Astin, and Neil Patrick Harris.
Recently, while going through our storage unit, we rediscovered a limited number of original Archie and Willy poster prints—unavailable to the public for over four decades. We are now making this rare collection available once again.
